Recent details have emerged concerning the tragic demises of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the residence. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

After gaining access to the home, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained and denied bail.

Clarifications

The person close to the family questioned several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

Furthermore disputed circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to descriptions of reportedly "unstable" conduct by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Details

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
